Meet Trina, our January Mama of the Month!
Tell us about your family. Our crazy little fam includes my husband Nick, our daughter Clara (3.5), son William (7 months), and our beloved pup Buddy.
How did you meet your husband? I went to visit my best friend at Ohio University one weekend. She was dating his roommate at the time and we met through them. But after that weekend didn’t see each other for 6 months with Nick at OU and living back home in Cleveland for the summer and myself at Indiana University and living at home in the Cincinnati area. We kept in touch and chatted everyday. Fast forward 12 years and here we are now married with two kids :)
Where are you originally from? West Harrison, IN. A small town just outside of Cincinnati, OH
Tell us about your current or previous career. I am a Dental Hygienist. I work at a pediatric office in Macedonia and have previously worked in general offices, but my pediatrics is where my heart is!
What’s on your Bucket List? All over the place! Aruba is at the top of the list but I would love to do a trip to explore around Europe.
Who is your celebrity crush or celebrity BFF? Taylor Swift
If your nickname was your pregnancy craving(s), what would it be? French fries
Where is your favorite place to travel? Oak Island, NC. I have grown up visiting there since I was a baby and it has brought me so much joy getting to see my babies make memories there!
What is your favorite hobby? Crafting, working out, and spending time with family and friends whether watching a sports game or hanging by the fireplace on our back patio
What does motherhood mean to you? I often tell new moms it is the most rewarding challenge! I saw this quote a few years back and I feel like it is so accurate: “motherhood is messy and challenging and crazy and sleepless and giving and still unbelievably beautiful” -Rachel Martin
How did you find FIT4MOM? What classes do you currently attend and why do you love them? My husband went to high school with Amy’s husband, Brian! I knew when I finally joined that I would kick myself for not joining sooner and that is very true :) I do either stroller strides on Monday or body boost Saturday AM depending on my work schedule
How has FIT4MOM impacted your life? It has given me a new sense of identity of both myself and as a mom. I have made new connections and friendships and love teaching my kids from a young age what it means to move your body to make yourself feel good and strong!
What is your proudest moment as a mom? With every stage the kids go through there is a new “proud mom moment”. But possibly my most unforgettable was at birth and the moment they were laid on my chest and I could finally kiss that sweet little head!
What's one thing you would go back and tell yourself as a new mom? Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. There are so many “rules” to listen to. Sometimes those “rules” don’t align with what you feel is right, and that’s ok!
Questions for kiddos: Clara, age 3.5
How old is Mommy? 100
What’s something Mommy always says? The only response I can get is “I don’t know” haha
What is mom really good at? Dancing with me
What’s mom’s favorite thing to do? Cooking
Trina, we are so happy to have you as a part of our Village and can't wait to watch you continue to crush your goals!
